Caught In The Rain

So far we've been pretty lucky avoiding the dreaded monsoon rains that we've been warned about from Lonely Planet and Vietnamese residents. It rains about once everyday...usually lasting for about 10-20 minutes...hard and sideways it beats at our apartment window. This evening we were heading back from dinner when without warning the sky turned charcoal grey and the wind started to violently shake the trees. Now you would think that with all these warnings we'd received one of us would be carrying an umbrella...but no. A flash of lightening lite up the entire sky and a deep rumble made us start to run for home but we were too late. The sky opened up and torrential rain and whipping wind descended upon us. By the time we made it back the top of my bun to the soles of my flip flops were soaked in smug infused water. Ew. Ew. Ewww.
