Cao Dai Great Temple

Cao Dai is a religion born in 20th century Vietnam that contains elements of Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Christianity, Islam, and native Vietnamese spiritualism. The ultimate goal of the Cao Dai disciple is to escape the cycle of reincarnation. The only way to do this is by refraining from killing, lying, luxurious living, sensuality, and stealing…well I guess that means that I’m out. This temple was incredible…the pictures do not do this place justice. The colors were out of this world…blue, yellow, pink, green…my eyes didn’t know where to look first. We were lucky enough to catch the noon prayer service. Rows and rows of white robed men and women conducted their singing prayers while seated on the mosaic tiled floor. The music and atmosphere added to the specialness of this moment. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
